Over 2,000 industrial enterprises have to undergo energy audits until 2015

ASTANA. August 27. KAZINFORM - More than two thousand large energy consumers in Kazakhstan have to conduct large-scale energy audits until the middle of 2015, Deputy Minister of Industry and New Technologies Nurlan Sauranbayev stated at a meeting of the Government on Tuesday, according to primeminister.kz.

"Prior to July 2015 more than 2,000 industrial enterprises must undergo energy audits. The Ministry of Industry and New Technologies will put a special emphasis on the industrial sector, since the industry is a priority sector with the consumption of more than 50% of the country's energy resources and the potential for energy savings up to 40%," Sauranbayev said.

The Vice Minister stressed that the process of creation of the market of energy auditors, accredited by the Ministry, was underway.

"To date, there are over 25 companies that operate in this area. Therefore, companies need to step up efforts to conduct energy audits. Also, foreign companies from Europe, USA, Japan and Russia expressed great interest in the Kazakh market of energy audits," he concluded.
