Over 1,500 Japanese companies operate in Middle East
At least 1,515 Japanese companies are currently operating across 13 countries in the Middle East, according to survey released on Friday by Teikoku Databank research firm, Qazinform News Agency learned from Jiji Press.
The report comes as Japanese nationals begin evacuating the region following the U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran.
Of the total, 469 firms maintain resident offices and production facilities, raising concerns that ongoing instability could force them to suspend or reassess operations.
The survey confirmed that 126 Japanese businesses are active in Iran, including importers of food and furniture products.
The largest concentration of firms was highest is in the United Arab Emirates, with 709 companies, followed by Israel with 473.
By sector, 883 companies are involved in wholesale trade, covering electronics, luxury used cars, and other goods, while 291 are manufacturers and 127 operate in the service industry.
