Over 150 scientists discuss prospects of development of Turkology in Astana

ASTANA. May 20. KAZINFORM /Gulnara Zhandagulova/ More than 150 scientists from 10 countries have gathered in Astana to take part in the scientific conference 'Turkic world and sovereign Kazakhstan'. They will discuss the prospects of development of Turkology.

The participants will also have talks on the role of the President of Kazakhstan in strengthening spiritual unity of the Turkic-speaking people.

'It is symbolic that on the year of the 20^th anniversary of independence of our country we have an opportunity to gather together and give a new impetus to development of Turkology, define a new way to address the issues, etc.' Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan Bakhytzhan Zhumagulov said.

'Independent Kazakhstan pays special attention to the integration of the Turkic-speaking world. There are many things that unite us. The idea of integration, that would help ensure stability and progress, became the factor for establishing the Academy of Turkic World by the President of Kazakhstan in 2010,' the Minister added.
