Over 142,000 Kyrgyzstani women receive loans for business
The National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan has for the first time developed and introduced into statistical reporting a system of indicators characterizing lending to women's entrepreneurship, Kabar reports.
In January-September 2024, 21 commercial banks and 581 non-bank financial and credit organizations were lending to economic entities in the country, the press service of the Committee reported.
Since the beginning of this year, they issued 2.7 million loans, of which almost 294 thousand, or about 11% accounted for the share of loans to individuals for business purposes.
More than 142 thousand women received such loans, which is 48% of the total volume of loans issued to individuals.
As of Oct.1 this year, the total volume of loans to individuals for business purposes amounted to about KGS 74 billion, where women accounted for almost 37% of its volume, or KGS 27 billion.
