Over 14,000 Kazakh school students to compete in 'Al-Farabi-2011' Olympiad

ALMATY. February 5. KAZINFORM School Olympiad "Al-Farabi-2011" organized by the Al Farabi Kazakh National University together with Education and Science Ministry will start in several weeks in Kazakhstan.
The first Olympiad was held in 2009 - the year of the university's 75th anniversary. About 30,000 school students took part in the competition since then. 8,700 winners became students of the Kazakh National University.
This year the Olympiad will host a record number of students. More than 14,000 applications were received. This is two times more than in 2009. The major part of applicants is registered in physics, mathematics and biology.
