For the past nine months the pace of construction works accelerated up to 10.1%, Deputy Prime Minister - National Economy Minister of Kazakhstan Nurlan Baibazarov told today’s Governemnt meeting, Kazinform News Agency reports.

12.4 million square meters of housing were commissioned in Kazakhstan in January-September this year that is 6.2% more compared to the previous year. The highest construction rates are seen in Shymkent as well as North Kazakhstan, Pavlodar and Turkistan regions. The positive dynamics are recorded in 18 regions with the most growth reported in Kyzylorda, Turkistan, Karaganda, Zhetysu and Abai regions. Atyrau and Mangistau regions recorded a decline in construction works.
Baibazarov stressed the high growth indicators were achieved thanks to the development of four large initiatives of the Head of State on housing construction, construction of transport and social infrastructure and modernization of engineering networks.
As earlier reported, the flood-affected families were provided with new housing in Akmola region.
