Oslo to host Week of Kazakh Culture and Tourism

Throughout the year Kazakhstan and Norway hosted numerous events commemorating this remarkable date.

Last Friday's reception brought together friends of Kazakhstan from business and academic circles, government bodies and NGOs of Norway and Kazakh diaspora and students.

Assistant Director General of the Norwegian MFA's Sector for Russia, Eurasia and Regional Cooperation Stein Iversen emphasized the role of Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev in country's formation and his merits in the international arena in terms of global security and promotion of peace. The Norwegian diplomat on behalf of his country expressed hope Astana would be given the right to host the EXPO-2017.

The Norwegian side said it was satisfied with the stable development of bilateral cooperation which had gained momentum in all spheres of relations.

In his speech of welcome charge d'affaires of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Norway Nurlan Mussin thanked our Norwegian partners for their continued support of Kazakhstan's foreign policy initiatives and contribution to social, economic and technological development of Kazakhstan.

Interest to Kazakhstan and cooperation with this Central Asian republic is picking up in Norway.

Kazakhstan has expanded the volumes of grain export to Norway. Over the last three years it has increased 14 times.

The number of tourists from Norway interested in Kazakhstan has almost doubled.

In order to stimulate and support public interest to Kazakhstan, the Week of Kazakh Culture and Tourism is to be held in late November in Oslo.
