OSCE Summit in Astana important for enhancing organization's image in the international arena - EU Special Rep

ASTANA. August 10. KAZINFORM Kazakh Ambassador Boribai Zheksembin has held a meeting with Special Representative of the European Union for Central Asia Josef Buzalka who is making a working visit to Uzbekistan; Kazinform has learnt from the Kazakh MFA's press service.

The sides exchanged opinions on a wide array of topics regarding bilateral interaction and noted the importance of close and mutually beneficial partnership between Kazakhstan and the European Union aimed at ensuring security and stability in the Eurasia continent.

B. Zheksembin emphasized the dynamic of the foreign trade turnover. Today 40 percent out of the total external trade turnover of Kazakhstan falls on the European Union.

Mr. Josef Buzalka noted the significance of successful implementation of the responsible mission of OSCE chairmanship. He stressed that holding of the OSCE Summit on December 1-2 in Astana was of paramount importance for enhancing the OSCE and its image in the international arena. He expressed support to the Agreement on Cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union reflecting the level of strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and European countries.
