OSCE Secretariat and CARICC sign letters of intent on coop in Almaty

ATY. July 16. KAZINFORM /Daniyar Sikhimbayev/ Within the framework of consultations on the cooperation issues between OSCE Secretary General Marc Perrin de Brichambaut and Director of the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Centre (CARICC) Beksultan Sarsekov have held an exchange of intent letters directed to strengthening interaction between the OSCE Secretariat and CARICC in the struggle against illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors.
The OSCE Secretariat and CARICC will render mutual assistance in implementation of the activity connected with the struggle against transnational organized crime within the framework of competence of the parties and agreements reached and hold meetings and consultations of the parties.
"The current chairmanship in the OSCE allowed the CARICC to sign only one document directed to strengthening cooperation in the OSCE in the plan of rendering mutual assistance on many problems connected with transnational drug crime. It is specialists' training, holding trainings and mutual exchange of information", B.Sarsekov said.
