OSCE Sec Gen: CSTO able to play important role in improving security in Central Asia

SCOW. October 5. KAZINFORM /Narymbek Ismagulov/ The Collective Security Treaty Organization is able to play an important role in improvement of security in Central Asia. OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier has announced it during participation in a session of the CSTO Permanent Council in Moscow.
"The OSCE can promote participation of the Central Asian countries in other Euro-Atlantic, Eurasian security communities as full members. Working together, we can increase our chances to successfully response on new challenges," Lamberto Zannier said.
He also added that within interaction of the two organizations it is necessary to proceed from long-term prospects and striving for elaboration of the strategic vision, which will allow to create a common security space.
"The OSCE outlined some fields, on which it will further work at the regional level. It is the issues of education, long-term socio-economic development of the region. Moreover, it is a work with youth within training of future leaders," the OSCE Secretary General noted.
