OSCE Chairman-in-Office K.Saudabayev meets with leader of Transnistria Igor Smirnov in Tiraspol

TIRASPOL. April 2. KAZINFORM /Rassul Bakhamov/ Solution of the issues of socio-economic character is to be one of the stages of conditions preparation for revival of the talks on the Transnistrian crisis, OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Kazakh Secretary of State-Minister of Foreign Affairs Kanat Saudabayev has announced.
After a meeting with leader of Transnistria Igor Smirnov in Tiraspol he noted that it is necessary to take steps towards people, solving their problems and interests.
According to him, after solution of the issues connected with socio-economic problems, there will appear specific results, and a dialog in the format "five plus two" could be continued. The next negotiations in this format will be held in Astana in May, 2010.
As Ambassador-at-Large - Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office for Protracted Conflicts Bolat Nurgaliyev informed, solution of some social issues can be an index which shows that Chisinau and Tiraspol are ready to direct efforts on improvement of ordinary citizens' conditions.
