ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Cost of organ transplant operations in Kazakhstan is much lower than abroad, said the Ministry of Health and Social Development of Kazakhstan.
"For example, bone marrow transplantation in Kazakhstan costs $31 thousand, and abroad its price varies from $120 thousand to $280 thousand. Heart transplantation operation costs about $90-95 thousand in Kazakhstan and $150-450 thousand abroad; kidney transplantation - $17,5-24,5 thousand and $40-60 thousand - abroad; liver transplantation - $35-45 thousand and $120-150 thousand - abroad", the Ministry said.
