Operating licenses of three airlines withdrawn in Kazakhstan

ASTANA. July 19. KAZINFORM The Kazakh Transport and Communications Ministry withdrew the operating licenses of "DETA Air", "MEGA" and "KazAir West" airlines, the Ministry said.

According to the report, these measures were taken after re-certifications conducted by specialists of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Kazakh Transport Ministry together with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) found that the airlines did not meet certification requirements.

"If these airlines do not change their ways by August 1, their certificates will be revoked too," a statement said.

The Kazakh airline and aircraft' re-certification process was launched in March 2013.

Around 32 airlines, 29 maintenance organizations and 73 aircraft were re-certified in Kazakhstan today, Kazinform quotes trend.az.

The Kazakh Civil Aviation Committee intends to complete the re-certification process by late August 2013.
