The opening event will take place at the Capital Education office at 10 Respublika Street, a press release of the U.S. Embassy in Astana reads.

Founded in 2008, Capital Education is interested in providing the citizens of Kazakhstan with the best possible education. They believe this can only be achieved by collaborating with foreign expertise. This entails both sending Kazakhstan citizens abroad and bringing foreign education institutions and expertise to Kazakhstan. They run an English Language School, where they provide in-house EL instruction as well as courses for Kazakhstani ministries and corporate clients. They also work with the Ministry of Education to provide English teaching to local state schools.

The two year English Access Microscholarship Program provides a foundation in English language skills to talented 14- to 18- year-olds from disadvantaged sectors through after school/weekend classes and intensive sessions. The program also gives participants the opportunity to gain an appreciation for U.S. culture and democratic values, increases their ability to participate successfully in the socio-economic development of their countries, and improve their chances of participating in U.S. educational and exchange programs. The program began in Kazakhstan in 2007. Since that time about 120 students have graduated from the program. 180 students will finish this summer.

The U.S. Embassy works with eight providers throughout Kazakhstan: in Shymkent, Taraz, Pavlodar, Aktobe (2 schools), Atyrau, Astana, Ust-Kamenogorsk. 225 students are involved in the 2010-2012 Access program in Kazakhstan.
