Opening borders for meat and dairy products supply from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan to be discussed in Almaty

ALMATY. KAZINFORM - The 5th session of the CIS Chief Veterinary Officers will be held from April 23-25 in Almaty where the question of opening the borders for Kyrgyz meat and dairy products supply to Kazakhstan will be reviewed.

Chief Veterinary Inspector of Kyrgyzstan Ashirbay Zhusupov said that currently Kyrgyzstan supplies products of 7 milk producers to Kazakhstan, and the question of opening borders for other 4 milk producers of Kyrgyzstan is being considered, Kazinform has learnt from AKI Press.

Since last year, the situation with FMD in Kyrgyzstan is prosperous and there are grounds for opening the border, he said.

The temporary export restriction is valid for 7 milk processing plants of Kyrgyzstan. Two milk plants are denied accreditation for export of milk products from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan banned export of products for 10 milk processing plants of Kyrgyzstan on October 3, 2013.

The Ak-Zhalga, Kant-Sut, Bishkek-Sut, Ursus, Umut and K, Sut Bulak, AK-Sut, and Akvafond K are allowed to import production to the territory of Almaty, Zhambyl, Kyzylorda, and South Kazakhstan regions.
