Only half of Kostanay rgn pasture land is used for its intended purpose – N.Nazarbayev

Before the round table Nursultan Nazarbayev went over agriculturally used land of the region.

Akim of Kostanay region Nuraly Saduakasov reported to the President on the main outcomes of socio-economic development and plans for the coming period. Minister of Agriculture Asylzhan Mamytbekov made a brief report on the activities too. In his speech the President noted that Kostanay region harvests the major yield of crops, amounting to 25% of the total volume harvested in Kazakhstan. Nursultan Nazarbayev said that the region is a leading producer of agricultural products in the country. President stressed the conservation of monoculture crops to the detriment of animal husbandry development. However, only half of the pasture land in Kostanay region is used for its intended purpose. Kazakhstan's President pointed out to the town of Arkalyk. In his words, it is necessary to develop the town which will offer new work places for people owing to the opening of the new railway. At the end of the meeting the Head of State wished the meeting's attendees well-being and success.
