Ombudsman of Kazakhstan partakes in Int’l conference on prevention of violence against children

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Shakirov has participated in an international conference on the prevention of violence against children held in Dushanbe, the press office of the Ombudsman reported.
The event, organized by Penal Reform International, joined representatives of human rights institutions and governments of Central Asian countries, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF), the Children's Ombudsman of Norway, and international experts.
The conference discussed topical issues of protection and promotion of children's rights and prevention of child abuse.
"Protection and promotion of children's rights is one of our institution's priorities. We provide an effective liaison with government agencies, international organizations and NGOs," said A. Shakirov.
