Ombudsman concerned about social tensions at ArselorMittalTemirtau

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Ombudsman in Kazakhstan is concerned about the continuing social tensions in "ArselorMittalTemirtau" JSC. The appeal, expressing its position, was sent to the company's management, the press office of the Ombudsman reports.
"The appeal focuses on systematically appearing in media reports about the unresolved labor relations and discussions related to the company's staff reduction", the message states. Ombudsman recalls that in 2013 the special working group visited ArselorMittalTemirtau and revealed violations of workers' rights. "In particular, the facts of labor law violation with regard to safety working conditions and working time. Following the visit, the agreement was reached on solving labor disputes within the legal framework and the need of cooperation between the company's administration and trade union organizations", the press release reads. The statement noted that "many marked problems have not been solved yet".
