Olympic Games in Paris garnered the attention of millions of viewers in Kazakhstan

The Olympic Games in Paris are being broadcast on five domestic TV channels: Jibek Joly, Qazaqstan, Qazsport, Khabar, and El Arna. Millions of Kazakhstanis joined the broadcasts to support the national team, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Khabar Agency JSC commenced live coverage of the Olympic Games on July 26th. Based on a report from K Research Central Asia, Khabar and El Arna TV channels aired a total of 24 broadcasts covering eight different disciplines within the initial five days. The broadcasts captured the attention of a significant audience, totaling up to 1,394,769 viewers. Boxing competitions garnered significant attention, attracting an audience of 229,438 viewers on Khabar and 254,054 viewers on El Arna.

The agency's website broadcasts received a total of 1,158,471 views, while the YouTube platform garnered 4,451,424 views. Over the course of five days, 32 million people tuned in to the various broadcasts on the Khabar Agency platforms.

Both the Qazaqstan and Qazsport TV channels have seen a surge in viewership. A total of 6,075,365 viewers tuned in to watch the Olympic Games across various platforms. Out of these, 4,492,947 opted for live television broadcasts, while 1,489,471 chose to stream the games through the official websites and the Qazaqstan.tv mobile application. 65 million views were garnered by the content published on social network pages.

According to data from K Research Central Asia, on July 27, the Qazaqstan TV channel broadcast the program "Judo. Summer Olympic Games. Paris-2024. Women" in Kazakh and Russian. The program was released on Saturday and collected a rating of 2.06%. "Judo. Summer Olympic Games. Paris-2024" in Kazakh and Russian on the next day collected a rating of 2.00%.

It is important to note that a total of 26 commentators from five different TV channels have been assigned to cover the Olympic Games, including Yesey Zhenisuly, Sergey Railyan, Liliana Alzhanova, Galym Suleimenov, Arman Abdrakhmanov, Zhandos Konysbayev, Zhandos Aitbayuly, Askhat Zhakayev, Aidar Makhmetov, and Yerbol Kairov. Film crews from Qazaqstan Corporation and Khabar Agency are actively working in Paris.

The Kazakhstan national team has managed to secure a total of 92 licenses across 25 different sports and 80 athletes have been selected to represent the nation in the XXXIII Olympic Games in Paris 2024. Currently Kazakhstan is on the 17th place in the medal count table with 1 gold and 2 bronze wins.
