Olympic champions congratulate orphans on New Year (PHOTOS)

KARAGANDA. KAZINFORM - Ilya Ilyin gives a smile while posing for a photo with children at the Charity New Year's Party held at the Sapiyev Boxing Center in Karaganda on Saturday (December 27). The Kazakhstani Weightlifting Federation organized the party for orphans.

Renowned Kazakhstani Olympic champions - weightlifter Ilya Ilyin, boxer Serik Sapiyev, world champion Zhasulan Kyzyrbayev, Incheon Asian Games champion Margarita Yeliseyeva and others visited the party ahead of the New Year holidays. "The most important thing is to believe in your own powers. If one sets a certain goal and believes in it, he/she will achieve it 100%. Go in for sports, study hard, learn foreign languages, and read more," two-time Olympic champion Ilya Ilyin extended his New Year's wishes to the kids. "I'm really excited to be here. This day is of paramount importance for me. I want kids to learn from my example, go in for sports and achieve their goals," said Margarita Yeliseyeva who lost her parents and was raised at an orphanage. The athletes posed with the kids for the photos and signed autographs. We hope they brought them lots of New Year's cheer!
