Oil giant Total is fined 307 mln euros over bribes in Iran

PARIS. June 1. KAZINFORM French oil giant Total has been fined 307 million euros to settle charges of bribery brought by the US government. It is alleged the company paid Iranian officials in exchange for oil and gas contracts between 1995 and 2004.The company's chairman and chief executive may also face prosecution for misuse of company funds.
