Oil company in Atyrau suspected of failing to pay USD 720 000 of taxes

ATYRAU. January 6. KAZINFORM - Atyrau Department for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption has initiated the criminal case against the management of the branch of "Caspian Sea Ventures International, LTD-North Caspian", under Article "Tax evasion and (or) other mandatory payments to the budget organizations."
According to the financial police, the administration of the Atyrau branch of the company in the period from January 2007 to December 2011 had been evading taxes. As a result, the state treasury has not received KZT 111 million.
According to preliminary information, tax evasion took place due to distortion of accounting reports.
