OIC Foreign Ministers' Council expected to adopt Astana declaration

ASTANA. June 27. KAZINFORM Astana declaration and over a hundred resolutions covering a wide range of issues are expected to be signed within the 38thsession of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization for Islamic Conference, the press service of the Kazakh MFA reports. "The participants of the session are expected to discuss a wide range of issues of the current OIC agenda. The Astana declaration and over 100 resolutions covering topical issues of the Muslim world's agenda will be adopted upon the results of the session," official representative of the Foreign Ministry Askar Abdrakhmanov said.

154 delegations are invited to take part in the meeting. 56 OIC member states confirmed their participation. The total number of participants and foreign media is expected to reach one thousand people.

"Our agenda includes such issues as the situation in Palestine, Middle East and North Africa, topical issues regarding Afghanistan and other regions of the Ummah," Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu said.
