OECD sets up country cooperation program for Kazakhstan - Minister

The OECD country programs enable its non-member states to cooperate with the organization. This year the organization decided to set up country programs for the first time only for four countries - Morocco, Peru, Thailand and Kazakhstan. "We welcome the fact that Kazakhstan has become one of the four countries. It demonstrates the OECD member states' interest in working with Kazakhstan. And we really appreciate it," Minister Dossayev told a press conference on Monday. The draft country program envisages the implementation of joint initiatives in such spheres as public administration, fiscal policy, competitiveness, improvement of business climate and sustainable development. But the list may be expanded. The final version of the program will be agreed by yearend. Such heavyweights such as the United States, Germany, France, and Japan are the OECD member countries.
