OECD confirms rising trade flows of G7 in Q3 2009

The newly released report summed up customs-based data of exports and imports of the United States, Canada, France, Britain, Germany, Italy and Japan.

With 5.0-percent increase in exports and 4.1-percent growth in imports quarter-on-quarter, G7 trade volumes were after a stable level in the second quarter but still significantly below the levels of 2008, the Paris-based agency said.

Year-on-year, exports were down 17.5 percent while imports were 14.6 percent lower in G7 group.

U.S. exports turned positive with 5.0 percent volume growth quarter-on-quarter and its imports rose 4.7 percent. However, compared to the level of last year, third quarter U.S. exports were down 14.5 percent while imports were 17.0 percent lower.

Germany's export volumes rose by 3.3 percent over the quarter and imports were up 3.1 percent. Year-on-year, exports declined by 16.5 percent and imports were down 10.9 percent; Kazinform cites Xinhua.
