Nursultan Nazarbayev took the oath of office of Kazakh President

ASTANA. April 8. KAZINFORM /Arai Temirgaliyeva/ Today the capital city of Kazakhstan Astana is holding the ceremony of inauguration of President Nursultan Nazarbayev who won 95.55 percent of the vote in April 3, 2011 presidential elections.

The ceremony which is being held at the Palace of Independence is attended by more than 3, 000 guests who have arrived from every corner of our republic. Among them are the deputies of the Kazakh Parliament, members of the Government, foreign ambassadors, representatives of the NGOs, political parties, figures of culture and art, veterans of war and labor and mass media.

At the beginning of the ceremony the National Guard of the country carried into the National Flag and the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

At the square of the Kazakh Eli monument the reelected Leader of the state was greeted by about 40, 000 Astana residents who had gathered there earlier.

Having put his right hand on the Constitution Nursultan Nazarbayev took the oath of the office of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan swearing "to serve Kazakhstani people, respect laws and the Constitution of Kazakhstan and guarantee the rights and liberties of its citizens".

Chairman of the Central Election Commission handed out the certificate of the President of Kazakhstan to Nursultan Nazarbayev.

It is symbolic that the inauguration of the Kazakh President coincides with the 20^th anniversary of the country's independence.
