Nursultan Nazarbayev introduces new FIC members
The announcement came during the 25th jubilee plenary FIC session at Rixos President Hotel in Astana.
"Since its establishment the council's composition has significantly expanded. I think it is a normal course of business. It reflects growing interest towards Kazakhstan on the part of the international business community and ever-increasing inflow of foreign investments into the country. Some USD 150 billion has been attracted to Kazakhstan over the last years. It accounts for 80 per cent of all direct investments that the region has attracted so far," Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
In addition, President Nazarbayev introduced new FIC members - President of Russian Sberbank German Gref, CEO of Conoco Philips Ryan Lance, Chairman of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited's (DTTL)
Global Board of Directors Steve Almond, President and CEO of Cameco Tim Gitzel, and President and CEO of GE Transportation Lorenzo Simonelli.
First Vice Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov, Vice Prime Minister Kairat Kelimbetov, Vice Prime Minister Yerbol Orynbayev and Minister of Economic Development and Trade Bakytzhan Sagintayev are to represent Kazakhstan at the FIC sessions.
