Nursultan Nazarbayev - founder of Kazakhstani model of parliamentarism: Majilis Speaker

ASTANA. November 26. KAZINFORM Nursultan Nazarbayev as the initiator of all flagship initiatives and democratic transformations in the country has become the founder of Kazakhstani model of parliamentarism.

Majilis Speaker Nurlan Nigmatulin said at the international conference "The Role of the President of Kazakhstan - Leader of the Nation N.A. Nazarbayev in the development of parliamentarism in Kazakhstan" at Soluxe Hotel Astana on Tuesday.

"In 1990 the future president chaired the Supreme Council of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic. He also was the deputy of the Supreme Council of the USSR of the 10th, 11th and 12th convocation. The Head of State already had extensive experience in lawmaking activity when Kazakhstan attained independence. Since the very first year of Kazakhstan's independence, he [Nursultan Nazarbayev] paid utmost attention to the formation of parliamentary system in our country," Mr. Nigmatulin noted.

According to him, the parliament has become an indispensable part of the political system of Kazakhstan.
