Nurlan Nigmatulin: Main goals of Parliamentary work – principal directions of «Kazakhstan-2050» Strategy

ASTANA. November 26. KAZINFORM — In the framework of the International Conference "The Role of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - the Leader of the Nation Nursultan Nazarbayev in parliamentary development in Kazakhstan" which is being held on the eve of the Day of the First President of Kazakhstan, the Majilis Chairman Nurlan Nigmatulin noted that nowadays the work of the legislative body is focused, primarily, on legislative support of "Kazakhstan-2050" Strategy's successful implementation, the press service of the Majilis reports.

Thus, there have been already adopted laws on the development of local government, the division of powers between the organs of government, public services, on the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs and amendments to the Tax and Budget Codes.

Currently there are being worked out the drafts of the Criminal Code, the Criminal Procedure and the Executive Penal Codes, the Code of Administrative Offences and important bills such as related to trade unions, strengthening the protection of property rights, further simplification of the administration of justice and improvement of the execution of judgment system.

For more than 20 years of activity the Parliament adopted 2132 laws including 3 constitutional laws, 17 codes and 872 laws on ratification and denunciation of international treaties.

Speaking about the work of the Kazakh Parliament the Chairman of the Majilis Nurlan Nigmatulin emphasized the crucial role of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev in the creation of necessary conditions for the effective fulfilment of the supreme legislative body's functions.
