Number of emergencies since 2012 start increased by 8.9 %

ASTANA. October 5. KAZINFORM "12 640 cases of the natural and manmade emergencies was registered since the beginning of 2012," Minister of Emergencies of Kazakhstan Vladimir Bozhko said at the sitting of the State Committee on prevention or relief of emergencies.
Above 20 thousands of emergencies occurred in Kazakhstan for the last six years.
The Minister noted that number of emergencies increased due to the growing number of fires that occurred because of drought season and high summer temperatures. Quality of injuries in recent years exceeded more than 9 000, deaths - 1700, and property damage reached KZT 11 billion," V.Bozhko added.
Issues of strategic planning of measures on prevention of emergency situations, infrastructure development of counterwork to seasonal flooding, mudslides, landfalls, avalanches, earthquakes were discussed at the sitting of the State Committee.
