Number of crimes grew by 114 percent in Kazakhstan in Jan

ASTANA. February 10. KAZINFORM. In January current year the level of registered crimes in Kazakhstan grew by 114 percent in comparison with the same period of the last year, Chairman of Legal Statistics and Special Records Committee of Kazakhstan Prosecutor General Marat Akhmetzhanov told a press conference.
Last year there were registered 9 029 crimes, today the figure is 19 302. According to Akhmetzhanov, crime rate is 1373 crimes per 100 thousand people, i.e. by 721 crimes more than last year.
