Nuclear fuel bank placement issue to be resolved in autumn 2011: D.Turganov

ASTANA. February 9. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ The International Atomic Energy agency will select a country where the nuclear fuel bank is to be located in autumn, 2011. Deputy Minister of Industry and New Technologies Duisenbai Turganov has made it public at the plenary session of the Majilis of the Kazakh Government.
According to him, the IAEA is expected to define criteria of countries for nuclear fuel bank placement in April this year. The results of application consideration of countries wishing to host the bank will be summed up in July. Kazakhstan competes with Great Britain and a number of other states in this issue.
D.Turganov believes that Kazakhstan has positive image in the context of security provision and is one of the leading uranium producers. In this regard, the probability of our country election is high.
