Northern Ireland Federation refused Russia to reimburse costs of match failure

MOSCOW. April 16. KAZINFORM - Football Federation of Northern Ireland will not pay the Russian Football Union (RFU) compensation for the failure of the match between the teams in the qualifying tournament for World Cup 2014, said the head of marketing and communications of the Federation Jeff Wilson.

Earlier it had been reported that the Federations of the two countries reached an agreement in principle for compensation during the negotiation of the new date of the match and all the legal papers had been sent to FIFA.

According to the regulations, the total will make up to 50 percent of costs. However, Wilson said that Northern Ireland would not refund the cost to the Russian side for travel and stay of the Russian delegation in Belfast, as reported by the "Sport-Express."

We remind that the Russian team arrived in Belfast on March 21, but due to the snow storms and the terrible state of the field at the stadium called "Windsor Park" the World Cup Qualifier 2014 was first moved from 22 th to 23 th day, and then was completely canceled.
