No rise in bread and flour prices expected - Agriculture Ministry

ASTANA. January 12. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ The average price for bread in the republic makes KZT 43 today, Vice Minister of Agriculture Saktash Khassenov has said it at a session of the board of the Competition Protection Agency.

"The regions not specializing in grain production have concluded memorandums on supply of food wheat from the reserves of the country's Food Corporation and the Grain Union at a fixed price. The point at issue is 2.9 mln tons of wheat costing KZT 26, 500 per a ton. This will let fully satisfy the regions' demand in food grain till October 1, 2011. As a result, no rise in prices for bread and flour is expected", S. Khassenov said.
According to him, Kazakhstan has 9.3 mln tons of wheat currently.
