Nigerian new president sworn in

ABUJA. May 6. KAZINFORM Nigerian Acting President Goodluck Jonathan was on Thursday sworn-in as President Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
Jonathan was sworn-in by the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Justice Alloysius Katssina-Alu at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Vila, Abuja.
The taking of Oath of Office and Oath of Allegiance started at about 8.05 a.m. local time.
Jonathan ascendancy as the President and Commander in Chief was sequel to the death of President Umaru Yar'Adua on Wednesday night.
Earlier to the swearing-in, Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF) Yayale Ahmed described the occasion as solemn because of the death of Yar'Adua; Kazinform cites Xinhua.
