Newborn falls from window in Petrozavodsk, but remains alive

PETROZAVODSK. February 9. KAZINFORM A one-year-old boy fell down from the window of an 8-storey residential house, but remained alive with a broken leg. A hipbone fracture was preliminarily diagnosed, doctors from the local hospital said. The kid will be cured at the hospital for several days; Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.
The incident occurred at a city dormitory on February 7, when the boy, who will turn one year and one month this week, got on the windowsill and fell down from the window opened for airing, a source in the Russian Investigation Committee department told Itar-Tass. A 17-year-old mother of the boy left the child alone in the room without any care.
The detectives did not find any reasons to charge the child parents with parental negligence and the final conclusions will be made after the inquiries.
