New system of advanced teacher training adopted in Kazakhstan

ASTANA. June 12. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan has introduced a new system of training teachers, said the executive secretary of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan Aliya Galimova.

"The system of improving the quality of teacher training has been worked out by the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in cooperation with the University of Cambridge, and it meets international educational standards", said at a briefing A.Galimova, conducted in Astana at President's central communications service center.

As explained by her, at the end of these courses teachers pass a qualifying exam and receive a certificate entitling them to additional payment of salary 30%, 70% and 100% - depending on the level of programs.

"In this way, the teacher, who is one standard rate (18 hours per week) With an average experience of 10 years, with higher education, having the highest category, depending on the level of training, will receive an average wage to KZT 122 286 " explained the Ministry official.

According to the Education and Science Ministry in 2013 about 3 thousand of directors and head teachers of schools will enhance their skills. It is planned that this year such improvement courses will be attended by more than 10,000 people from all over Kazakhstan.
