New Governors chosen in Abay and Karkaralinsk districts of Karaganda rgn

KARAGANDA. August 9. KAZINFORM — New Akims of Abay and Karkaralinsk, the two towns of regional importance, are elected in Karaganda region.
Local maslikhat deputies have elected Sapar Satayev to a position of Akim of Abay town and Nurlan Batyrbekov to a post of Akim of Karkaralinsk town.
According to the regional election commission, 137 of newly chosen governors had previously worked at the same seats and 65 Akims are new comers.
As previously reported, elections in Karaganda region were held on August 8. Among 202 elected mayors 2 are for district towns named Abay and Karkaralinsk, 35 — for small towns, 34 – for villages and 131 – for rural districts.
