New frontier post opens in South of Kazakhstan
"The new frontier post was built and commissioned in the nondescript village of Kaskelen during a short term. It is a modern complex. It's a military camp, headquarters, boxes, barracks, block outbuildings, dog kennel," the head of regional management of Shygys, Major General Nail Aldayev, whose words are quoted in the report, said in the opening ceremony.
According to him, work on arrangement of southern borders has already allowed to block loopholes, which were earlier used by smugglers to penetrate the territory of Kazakhstan, and on increasing the readiness of frontier guards to repel potential threats (terrorism), Kazinform refers to trend.az.
According to the data of Border Service of Kazakhstan, it is planned to commission 16 frontier posts of this type. 7 of them already operate, including Kaskelen, and 9 departments will open by late 2013.
