New deputy mayor of Astana city named

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Yesterday the Astana city administration announced that Andrei Lukin was named as deputy mayor of Astana city.
Earlier it was reported that Andrei Lukin stepped down as the first deputy Chairman of the Kazakh Agency for Fight against Economic and Corruption-related Crimes (Financial Police) in line with President Nazarbayev's executive order. Born in Astana, Mr. Lukin is a graduate of the Tselinograd Engineering and Construction Institute (1978-1983) and the Buketov Karaganda State University (1988-1993). For the past twenty years Lukin has served in a variety of positions, including deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2003-2005) and first deputy Chairman of the Agency for Fight against Economic and Corruption-related Crimes (Financial Police) (2005 - till present). Lukin is set to take office today.
