New cases of bizarre sleeping disease recorded in Akmola region

KOKSHETAU. KAZINFORM - Two more cases of sleeping dropsy were registered in Kalachi village in Akmola region on Sunday, Kazinform correspondent Aslan Ospanov reports.
According to reports, an elderly man and a woman thought to be in her 40s applied to a local hospital with symptoms of sleeping dropsy on March 1. "Both were treated at the hospital. Afterwards, the patients returned home," akim (head) of Yessil district Amanbek Kalzhanov said. Over the past two years nearly 120 cases of bizarre sleeping dropsy have been recorded in Kalachi and Krasnogorsk.
