Necessary to support food security at regional and global levels - President
"According to the World Bank, the prices for food have increased by 36 percent since the beginning of the year. As a result the number of people living in poverty has reached 44 million people since last June. The situation worsens as the food prices rise," N. Nazarbayev noted.
"Kazakhstan is an exporter of high-quality food grain. Thanks to unique natural conditions we have developed a program on development of meat products export. In accordance with this program we are going to increase the meat export up to 180 thousand tons by 2020. It is a very ambitious project but I believe we are able to successfully realize it. We invite investors to participate in our projects with solid foundation in the form of good business climate," the President added.
