Necessary to protect the state from religious extremism - Kazakh leader

TANA. September 1. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ It is necessary to protect the state from religious extremism, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said at the Parliament's joint session.
He noted that the Parliament should consider the draft law "On religious activities and religious associations".
"Inter-religious harmony is one of the merits of the unity of our people. With regard to inter-religious issue, we definitely need to pass the law and make amendments. The aim is to protect the state from religious extremism," Nazarbayev said.
