Necessary to learn comprehensively causes and effects of 1930's famine in Kazakhstan - Kul-Mukhammed

ASTANA. June 1. KAZINFORM International scientific-practical conference "The famine in Kazakhstan: the tragedy of the people and the lessons of history" started in Astana on Friday.
"Yesterday the Kazakh President while opening the monument to the famine victims noted that we pay tribute to the millions of innocently perished compatriots. At the same time we must learn causes and consequences of this great tragedy," Kazakh Secretary of State Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed noted.
The Kazakh Secretary of State expressed confidence that scientists from more than 20 countries, including Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and far abroad, will contribute to filling the gap in studying the theme of famine in Kazakhstan.
