Nazarbayev visits S Kazakhstan cardiology center

The cardiac surgery department was built and put into operation within the Program of development of cardiological and cardiac surgery in Kazakhstan for 2007-2009".  The first open heart surgeries were conducted here. The capacity of the center allows to hold about 300 such surgeries per year. The center is equipped with modern diagnostic, laboratory and operating theater equipment.

Before the center was created in the region, patients had to go to Almaty and Astana to have surgeries. The center is designed for 120 inpatients, 325 people including 74 qualified doctors are working here.
