Nazarbayev University works on modeling of energy system of Kazakhstan

The purpose of the project on energy, economic and environmental modeling of options for development of energy system of Kazakhstan and its correlation with global energy system is to model options of development of the power industry taking into account global tendencies, Pm.kz site informs.

Besides, the TIMES system will become an instrument for modeling which has a wide range of application. It allows to build forecasts of development of the energy system with consideration for time zones, regions, module principle and an opportunity for continuous usage.

As the developers of the project note, implementation of the project will help make more accurate forecasts and reduce environmental emissions.

It should be noted that the project provides for several stages. One of them is collection of information and its analysis thanks to the TIMES system, another one is building of different scenarios for Kazakhstan, a model of the Caspian region and integration into the global network. As a result, scenarios of development of the energy industry and its impact on the environment will be developed on the national scale and worldwide scale as well.   

It will allow to systematically assess, forecast and start modeling of development of the energy sector of Kazakhstan. The project is being developed by the Center for Energy Research at Nazarbayev University.
