Nazarbayev University to have virtual teachers

"We develop a project on creation of the virtual world in a 3D format in the Nazarbayev University which can be used for education purposes," S. Overmyer said.

The project also provides for creation of the university's three dimensional replica and thanks to it, students will be able to learn more about the university and receive help in studying a subject.

As the Professor notes, the project is called on to help students in learning process as long as it is focused on those subjects and courses that are taught in the Nazarbayev University.

Besides, the designers of the project plan to create virtual teachers who can render some teachers' services in virtual world as it is in real education process.

"We plan to create virtual teachers programmed at such a level that real students will be able to pass their works to them and these teachers check them, comment and assess," the Professor said.

Besides, the program will include creation of a system of 3D avatars of students which is called on to promote education process of students and play real situations in virtual world. The characters of this model will also be 3D people with artificial intelligence.

"We create avatars or virtual characters having artificial intelligence to a certain degree. These 3D people will be able to talk to us and we can talk to them in different situations," S. Overmyer emphasizes.

According to project designers and developers, this project will allow the participants to learn how to solve real problems in conditions of narrowed, adapted and free from risks environment and involve students in the work on modeling of virtual reality for learning the process of forming society.
