Nazarbayev: Transferring penitentiary system to Justice Ministry 'a hasty decision'

ASTANA. September 1. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ We've been overhasty in transferring the penitentiary system from the Ministry of Internal Affairs to the Ministry of Justice, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said addressing the Parliament's joint session on Thursday.
"We were persuaded by the world community, and what we got is a complete disgrace. Arms, drugs and all of that kind of stuff is taken out from prisons," Nazarbayev noted.
"Before you adopt some innovations, you must think carefully and check everything," the President added.
