Nazarbayev to attend summit of Turkic Speaking States Cooperation Council in Azerbaijan

BAKU. August 14. KAZINFORM Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev and his counterparts from Azerbaijan, Turkey and Kyrgyzstan are to convene in Gabala (Azerbaijan) tomorrow for the third Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States.

Foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan are expected in Gabala as well. They will attend a special meeting on August 15, prior to the top-level meeting. The session of the Cooperation Council is set to take place on August 16. Following results of the summit, the Gabala Declaration will be signed.

The summit will mainly focus on the cooperation in transport sphere and customs procedures.

The first summit of the Cooperation Council was initiated by the president of Kazakhstan and held in Almaty in 2011. Economic cooperation was in the spotlight that year.
