Nazarbayev suggests UN adopting universal declaration of nuclear-free world

UST-KAMENOGORSK. January 28. KAZINFORM / Lyudmila Malko/ "We take the lead in ensuring the global nuclear security. Kazakhstan offers the UN to adopt the universal declaration of nuclear-free world", President of Kazakhstan N.Nazarbayev said in his annual Address to the Nation.
The idea of global nuclear security among other foreign initiatives of the President is of current concern for Kazakhstan marks this year the 20th anniversary of closing the Semipalatinsk test site. To date Kazakhstan is the only country of the world to voluntarily renounce nuclear weapons.
